If you answered yes to any of these questions, David’s Authentic Leadership Academy is for you.
The Authentic Leadership Academy is for those who understand the incredible responsibility of leadership and are committed to unleashing the best in themselves and their team. If you want to infuse new passion, power, and purpose into your leadership and life, come prepared for a life-changing experience that will ask you to question everything you know about leadership and provide you with a roadmap to achieve new levels of impact and success.
Whether a CEO entrusted with an entire company, a supervisor committed to building a great team, a middle manager who oversees a division, a front-line healthcare professional, an entrepreneur, a parent, a coach, a teacher, a community volunteer, or a citizen dedicated to making a difference, this three-day Academy will be valuable to you and unlike any experience you’ve had before.
“We all understand that there’s a difference between a boss and a leader. You can get promoted to being a boss, but you can’t get promoted to being a leader. You have to earn it. And you aren’t a leader until someone calls you one. This makes every person a potential leader – with or without a title. Leadership is ultimately about presence, not position.”
– David Irvine
The world hungers for leaders who are authentic – people whose inner compass guides their daily actions and who inspire trust by being honest and real. In this unique three-day experience, you will discover what it takes to lead with authenticity and purpose to become the kind of exceptional leader you most admire.
Based on David Irvine’s ground-breaking books, The Other Everest: Navigating The Pathway To Authentic Leadership, and Caring Is Everything: Getting To The Heart Of Humanity, Leadership, and Life, this program immerses you in a profoundly personal exploration.
This in-depth program goes beyond traditional leadership training by getting to the heart of authentic leadership. Focused on developing self-awareness and emotional intelligence, you will gain practical tools to lead with renewed passion, purpose and confidence, inspire others to do their best work, and bring exceptional value to your organization.
In short, this program cuts through the superficial hype and gets to the core of what it takes to be a leader.
We will be blessed by having Nancy Callio open each morning with a ceremony by lighting a smudge, offering prayer, and acknowledging the land we are all on.
To Nancy, the power of presence is how to connect first to the power of your Spirit to hold your divine presence. Nancy believes we are all leaders in our own unique ways of capacities. In order to change we first need to acknowledge our own spirit and all that we are. If you want others’ behaviors around you to change, you have to change yours.
From a western perspective, Nancy will engage and learn along with all the participants, as she sees these teachings as gifts to help grow her own leadership abilities.
Nancy’s first home is on the Sucker Creek First Nation in Treaty 8 territory and she is one of 12 siblings. Her father was Cree from Treaty 8 and her mother is Metis from Treaty 6 territory. Nancy is married and has nine children: three biological, two stepchildren, and four who came to them through foster care. Her second home is an acreage near Ardrossan, Alberta. Nancy is a daughter, sister, auntie, mother, wife, colleague and friend – she is nehiyaw – Cree.
Nancy prefers to be called a wicihtasow (we ci ta sue) – a person who helps. She believes in the wahkotowin (wa koh to win) laws of being related to all living beings and relational accountability and wicihotowin (wee ci hit o win) that we are all here to help each other.
Nancy is guided by Elders and Knowledge Keepers and she believes in walking with Creator and her Ancestors. Nancy is the Director of Indigenous Resources at Unlimited Potential Community Services in Edmonton, Alberta. Collectively, she helps serve our Indigenous peoples to connect to their family, cultural identity, land, ceremonies, Knowledge Keepers/Elders, and to their nation’s territory or settlement.
