FOCUS YOUR LEADERSHIP
AMPLIFY YOUR IMPACT
If you answered yes to any of these questions, David’s Authentic Leadership Academy is for you.
The Authentic Leadership Academy is for those who understand the incredible responsibility of leadership and are committed to unleashing the best in themselves and their team. If you want to infuse new passion, power, and purpose into your leadership and life, come prepared for a life-changing experience that will ask you to question everything you know about leadership and provide you with a roadmap to achieve new levels of impact and success.
Whether a CEO entrusted with an entire company, a supervisor committed to building a great team, a middle manager who oversees a division, a front-line healthcare professional, an entrepreneur, a parent, a coach, a teacher, a community volunteer, or a citizen dedicated to making a difference, this three-day Academy will be valuable to you and unlike any experience you’ve had before.
“We all understand that there’s a difference between a boss and a leader. You can get promoted to being a boss, but you can’t get promoted to being a leader. You have to earn it. And you aren’t a leader until someone calls you one. This makes every person a potential leader – with or without a title. Leadership is ultimately about presence, not position.”
– David Irvine
The world hungers for leaders who are authentic – people whose inner compass guides their daily actions and who inspire trust by being honest and real. In this unique three-day experience, you will discover what it takes to lead with authenticity and purpose to become the kind of exceptional leader you most admire.
Based on David Irvine’s ground-breaking books, The Other Everest: Navigating The Pathway To Authentic Leadership, and Caring Is Everything: Getting To The Heart Of Humanity, Leadership, and Life, this program immerses you in a profoundly personal exploration.
This in-depth program goes beyond traditional leadership training by getting to the heart of authentic leadership. Focused on developing self-awareness and emotional intelligence, you will gain practical tools to lead with renewed passion, purpose and confidence, inspire others to do their best work, and bring exceptional value to your organization.
In short, this program cuts through the superficial hype and gets to the core of what it takes to be a leader.
We will be blessed by having Nancy Callio open each morning with a ceremony by lighting a smudge, offering prayer, and acknowledging the land we are all on.
To Nancy, the power of presence is how to connect first to the power of your Spirit to hold your divine presence. Nancy believes we are all leaders in our own unique ways of capacities. In order to change we first need to acknowledge our own spirit and all that we are. If you want others’ behaviors around you to change, you have to change yours.
From a western perspective, Nancy will engage and learn along with all the participants, as she sees these teachings as gifts to help grow her own leadership abilities.
Nancy’s first home is on the Sucker Creek First Nation in Treaty 8 territory and she is one of 12 siblings. Her father was Cree from Treaty 8 and her mother is Metis from Treaty 6 territory. Nancy is married and has nine children: three biological, two stepchildren, and four who came to them through foster care. Her second home is an acreage near Ardrossan, Alberta. Nancy is a daughter, sister, auntie, mother, wife, colleague and friend – she is nehiyaw – Cree.
Nancy prefers to be called a wicihtasow (we ci ta sue) – a person who helps. She believes in the wahkotowin (wa koh to win) laws of being related to all living beings and relational accountability and wicihotowin (wee ci hit o win) that we are all here to help each other.
Nancy is guided by Elders and Knowledge Keepers and she believes in walking with Creator and her Ancestors. Nancy is the Director of Indigenous Resources at Unlimited Potential Community Services in Edmonton, Alberta. Collectively, she helps serve our Indigenous peoples to connect to their family, cultural identity, land, ceremonies, Knowledge Keepers/Elders, and to their nation’s territory or settlement.

“I have never attended a leadership session quite like yours. The way you expertly wove in stories and videos to enhance the theory was awe inspiring. You were able to combine big ideas and lofty goals, with practical take-aways. The vulnerability and honesty that you, the mentors, and other story tellers demonstrated is a thing of beauty. The three days flew by and I only wished we had longer with you and the group to discuss further.
Words can’t express how truly inspiring the session was and how incredible of a facilitator, host, and guide you are.”
“I had a different understanding of what the course was like when I signed up. What I discovered was it is a program that helps you stop and take a moment in time right now to reflect what your authentic self could really be?
It is helping me take time to reflect on my own values and helping me to reassess my own better purpose. The outline of the journey David presents in a caring way is helping me understand new tools to deal with things of my past, realize more of an authentic person I can become. David encourages me to take time discover the person I can really be. Thank you, David.”
“I have been in many a leadership type training and I can say with confidence this was the most powerful and impactful of them all.”
“First, I want to thank the group. The openness and trust the group has given each other has been amazing. Second, David you continue to inspire today and every time we cross paths. My takeaway is that everyone has a light; we can either dim it or help it shine bright. Kindness, accountability and being vulnerable are the keys to the brightness. Having someone believe in you is the best!
My biggest takeaway is leadership is simple; but involves work and is a journey. Mistakes will be made but how you recover and grow from them is important. The process of learning is part of the fun.
Really try to get back to in person when feasible. Virtual was well done, but nothing beats the interactions in person.”
“I had the pleasure of attending “The Other Everest” retreat facilitated by David. This was the best decision I have made in awhile. I found it changed the way I view life situations and my reactions to them. Everyone owes it to themselves to invest their time, energy and money for this worthwhile retreat. Remember to take the time to be in the moment.”
“What a workshop! Thank you for allowing me to find my authentic self. It was a profound, life altering experience for me. To be immersed in a space of complete trust, kindness and support, was awe inspiring.”
“I really have no words to completely describe my experience. […I cannot] fully describe the life-changing event that you set the stage for and made happen. Truly, truly amazing. I look forward to continuing to grow with all that I absorbed and to nourishing all the new relationships.”
“The Other Everest allowed me to see light shine through my own faults … and allowed me to be a better mother, mentor, leader and coach. No words or pictures will ever describe what it felt like to be part of something that was so small but so profound. We all had a calling to get there and be there and now our calling is to display our true selves so our light will warm others for days and years to come.”
“As a result of working with David Irvine, I am less stressed, have a great work/life balance, enjoy my career more and contribute to the organization more effectively and with more energy. The company is growing faster, profitability is up, and my mind is focused, as is my management team.”
“I have benefited firsthand from David’s remarkable insights into not only how to be accountable, but why. He and his organization embody what it means to be accountable, and they have been fantastic to work with. Take the first step towards refocusing your own accountability – hear his message, then implement his strategies. You and those you care about will be better off for it.”
“David did an extraordinary great job linking culture excellence and leadership engagement. David’s genuine approach and passionate presentation gave the team food for thought in strengthening our culture and accountability. A motivational strategy that can be applied both in our personal and work life.”
“…There was a calmness in David’s persona (energy), I felt immediately close to him as he shared his personal experiences with the group. All I kept thinking was ‘this man is greatness beyond any other I have witnessed,’ so humble, so open, so passionate, and such a commander of humanness. The discussions throughout that David facilitated, were a complete compliment to each other. This changed me. To reflect and be present. I had to digest all this information. Being in a group of strangers, bound by a team who were passionate on sharing their caring, love and human sides. I too wanted to share; I felt the same as the members in the group. The other members were engaged, insightful and respectful of everyone else. Again, the space and platform that David and his team created, was very serene.
We finished up the three days and there was a sense of longing for the retreat to continue. We all shared and reflected intimately with each other, we all bonded as group and grew as individuals… My leadership is ever improving and evolving, I learned to be present, let it be. I learned I am passionate for people, to help others grow and be better humans. I learned about other people at the retreat who felt the same as me. I learned that caring is a success. I will never forget this experience, the people, the leaders of today and the love we all had for each other, and the peace we set forth to bring to all around us.
I am changed, I am present, I am full,
let what may come, come,
Be my best me, Share my passion for people with people,
Love, let my inner light shine,
Face the fear,
Embrace the suck.”
